  • Friends

    Everyone needs one of those friends that is aware of all your failures and inadequacies yet loves you anyway.  You know the kind that listen to your rants and when you realize how foolish you sound they tell you it's ok and want to hear the rest of your rant. The friend that apologizes to you for getting mad at you when they really didn't but you thought they did (and better yet when they had a reason to be mad at you, but weren't).  I won't say my friend's name but I have a couple. I am not sure why God has placed either in my life, but I give him the praise and pray that our friendship is glorifying to him.

    Thanks, I was out looking for friends, and I ran into a throw-away line about how God wants us to call the world back, and I know the traditional missionary understanding is a bit "teddy-bearish" and needs to be balanced by the cost... As Jesus said

    Luke 14:27-29 (New King James Version)

    27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,

    Ps I am still looking for people "of like mind", on my site you should see something about it.. and where the Lord has brought me (somewhere a bit wooded shall we say)
